From courtrooms to village halls, mediation holds great potential for resolving disputes. Mediation should not only be part of litigation, but can also be conducted outside of court. Peace agreements made outside of court can still be brought in for verification and ratification. However, a paradigm shift and strategy are needed to ensure that mediation does not become a mere formality.
