In the Author’s view, it is unnecessary. Such a territorial reservation runs counter to the spirit of the New York Convention, creates internal inconsistencies within India itself (see Rao, 2000), and is also inconsistent with the policy direction underpinning the revision of Indonesia’s Arbitration Law as reflected in the Seventh Asta Cita.
