The law on industrial relations has been on the books for some time and after an emergency delay for a lack of infrastructure and human resources, the Industrial Relations Court (IRC) created by the law is in full force and effect (see ILB 8/8/2006 and ILD 7/9/2005). Considering this reality it makes a great deal of sense for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to issue a set of guidelines to govern how the law and the court are to operate.Law No. 2 of 2004on Industrial Relations' Dispute Settlement Law (IRDS Law), as are most laws in Indonesia, a general statement agreed by the House of Representatives (DPR) on the basic premises and provisions of the law.
