2018 Minimum Wage for the Jakarta Industrial Sector

The Governor of the Special Capital City Region of Jakarta (“ Governor ”) has finally determined the 2018 minimum wages for workers across several industrial sectors after considering the results of negotiations that took place between business associations and labor unions, through the issuance of Governor’s Regulation No. 16 of 2018 on the 2018 Minimum Wages for the Industrial Sector (“ Regulation 16/2018 ”). [1] Prior to the issuance of Regulation 16/2018, these same matters were regulated under Governor’s Regulation No. 20 of 2017 on the 2017 Minimum Wages for the Industrial Sector (“ Regulation 20/2017 ”). [2] 2018 Minimum Wages for the Industrial Sector in JakartaRegulation 16/2018 sets out statutory provincial minimum wages for eleven industrial sectors in Jakarta, namely: [3]
