In order to address persistent online cyber threats that are occurring throughout Indonesia’s cyberspace and digital ecosystem, as well as to provide greater legal certainty and ensure adequate national Cybersecurity and Defense (Keamanan dan Ketahanan Siber- “ KKS ”), the government is currently completing work on the Draft Bill on KKS (“ Draft Bill ”). In this regard, a new 2025 version of the Draft Bill has just been published. The 2019 version of the Draft Bill was previously analyzed by the Hukumonline Legal Research and Analysis team in the following edition of Indonesian Legal Brief (“ ILB ”): “ Draft Bill on Cyber Security and Defense ”.
