Citizen Registration and Civil Registry - Implementation Issues

The government ofJakartahas issued Regulation No. 70 of 2008 to amend for the second time Regulation No. 16 of 2005. This second set of amendments is primarily to ensure that the government ofJakartais utilizing the National Citizen Administration Information System (Sistem Informasi Administrasi Kependudukan/ SIAK) and in compliance with the applicable standards of the system. The SIAK system inJakartais now complete with the necessary photo equipment that permits a photo of the relevant citizen to be taken, stored in the system, and then automatically incorporated into the new identity card.
