The Government has issued Regulation No. 31 of 2007 which is the fourth series of amendments to Government Regulation No. 12 of 2001. This amendment specifically targets the import of materials that are to be used in the provision and development of suitable simple housing for the community. The Government is developing a comprehensive housing development program in an effort to meet its Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) as they relate to poverty alleviation (see ILD 14/3/2007).
