According to the Online Information System for the Protection of Women and Children (Sistem Informasi Online Perlindungan Perempuan dan Anak/Simfoni PPA), occurrences of sexual violence have been increasing during the course of the past three years, including within workplaces. [1] As a part of efforts that are being aimed at the actualization of conducive and safe working environments, the Minister of Manpower (“ Minister ”) has issued Decree No. 88 of 2023 (“ Decree 88/2023 ”), which has been in force since 29 May 2023. The Decree offers a set of mandatory guidelines for the following types of companies on the prevention and handling of sexual violence within the workplace [2] : 1) Legal/non-legal entities and individually-owned, partnership-owned or legal entity-owned (private/state) enterprises that have employees; 2) Social enterprises (usaha sosial) or other forms of enterprises that have employees. [3]
