Bank Indonesia Updates DHE and DPI Implementing Regulation, Including Details of the Entry, Placement and Utilization of DHE SDA

In an attempt to optimize the utilization of natural resources (Sumber Daya Alam– “ SDA ”), the government previously issued Regulation No. 36 of 2023 on Foreign Export Proceeds (Devisa Hasil Ekspor– “ DHE ”) from the Business, Management and/or Processing of SDA (“ Regulation 36/2023 ”). [1] In order to support this endeavor, Bank Indonesia (“ BI ”) also previously issued Regulation of BI No. 7 of 2023 (“ Regulation 7/2023 ”) on DHE and Foreign Exchange for Import Payments (Devisa Pembayaran Impor– “ DPI ”) as one of the implementing regulations to Regulation 36/2023.
