The design of any packaging used in relation to radioactive materials is a highly important factor as regards the use of radioactive substances and should be able to protect workers, society and the environment. As such, it is important to ensure the quality of the packaging of radioactive materials (“ Packaging ”) through the enhancement of domestic Packaging testing laboratories. [1] In order to reflect these concerns, the Nuclear Energy Supervisory Agency (Badan Pengawas Tenaga Tenaga Nuklir– “ BAPETEN ”) has issued Regulation No. 4 of 2022 on Radioactive Material Package Testing Laboratories (“ Regulation 4/2022 ”), which has now repealed and replaced a number of previous legal frameworks that addressed similar matters, specifically:[2]
