BEI Introduces Mechanism for Carbon Trading via PBK: Four Market Segments Introduced

Following its recent securing of a business permit as the organizer of the carbon exchange (Penyelenggara Bursa Karbon– “ PBK ”) by PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (“ BEI ”) from the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan– “ OJK ”), the BEI has decided to issue a new Regulation (“ Carbon Trading Regulation ”) on Carbon Unit (“ Units ”) Trade (“ Carbon Trading ”) through PBK as the Appendix to Decree of the Board of Directors of BEI No. KEP-00296/BEI/09-2023 (“ Decree 296/2023 ”), which has been in force since 20 September 2023.
