BEI Introduces Third-Party Retirement Mechanism for Carbon Units under Revised Carbon Trading Framework, Further Provisions Forthcoming

The Board of Directors (“ BoD ”) of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (“ BEI ”) has issued Decree No. Kep-00103/BEI/07-2026 on the Amendment to the Regulation on the Registration of Carbon Units Through the Carbon Exchange Organizer (“ Decree 103/2026 ”). The issuance of Decree 103/2026 has resulted in the simultaneous repeal and revocation of Decree of the BoD of BEI No. Kep-00295/BEI/09-2023 (“ Decree 295/2023 ”), which previously addressed various matters relating to the registration of carbon units.
