The Bill on Legal Tender (Bill) has indeed had a long and arduous path to reach a draft version that perhaps may successfully negotiate the House of Representatives (DPR) and become the 'law of the land' in this area. The history of this Bill dates back to 2003 and was expected to be discussed and debated in Commission XI back in May of 2006 (see e-Alert 5/12/2003 and ILB No. 324). The current draft of the Bill has been agreed by all factions of the DPR and is expected to go to Commission XI in the near future.
