The House of Representatives on 11 October 2011, has passed a comprehensive State Intelligence Bill (“Bill”) to advance the general welfare of the nation, ensure the safety and welfare of citizens, and protect state sovereignty. The Bill is designed to facilitate detection efforts and to deter threats to the Republic of Indonesia and regulate state intelligence to provide the public with legal certainty about national security efforts.
