Biofuels Industry Alert: Say Goodbye to BBN Imports and Hello to More Biofuel Types!

In 2008, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (“ Minister ”) introduced Regulation No. 32 of 2008 on the Provision, Utilization and Commercialization of Biofuels (Bahan Bakar Nabati– “ BBN ”) as Other Forms of Fuel, which was subsequently amended several times, most recently through Regulation of the Minister No. 12 of 2015 (collectively referred to as “ Regulation 32/2008 ”). As its title suggests, Regulation 32/2008 addressed various aspects specifically related to the utilization and provision of BBN, including BBN classifications and specifications, as well as permitted commercial businesses.
