BKPM Introduces New Provision on Investment Control

The Investment Coordinating Board (Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal– “ BKPM ”) recently issued Regulation No. 6 of 2020 on Investment Control Guidelines and Procedures (“ Regulation 6/2020 ”), which establishes a new and updated mechanism for the implementation of investment controls within Indonesia and which will function as an implementation of Regulation of BKPM No. 1 of 2020 on Guidelines for the Implementation of Electronically Integrated Business Licensing Services (“ Regulation 1/2020 ”). [1] Regulation 6/2020 also redefines several provisions concerning guidelines and procedures for investment controls, which were previously specified under Regulation of the BKPM No. 7 of 2018 (“ Regulation 7/2018 ”) [2] , which has now been repealed and replaced by Regulation 6/2020.
