Border Control Measures for Goods Suspected of Infringing Intellectual Property Rights

The government has issued Government Regulation No. 20 of 2017 on the Control of the Import and Export of Goods Resulting from Violations of Intellectual Property Rights (“Regulation 20/2017”).Regulation 20/2017 serves as an implementation of Article 64 (1) and (2) of Law No. 10 of 1995 on Customs, which was amended by Law No.17 of 2006 . These articles required further provisions to be set out relating to the control of imports and exports of goods resulting from violations of intellectual property rights (“Illegal Goods”).
