BPOM Draft Regulation on CPPOB Implementation Licenses: 30-Day Fast-Track Approvals and Post-Licensing Audit Mechanism for UMK Set for Introduction

In 2021, the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan– “ BPOM ”) introduced Regulation No. 22 of 2021 (“ Regulation 22/2021 ”) on Procedures for the Issuance of Good Manufacturing Practices for Processed Foods (Cara Produksi Pangan Olahan yang Baik– “ CPPOB ”) Implementation Licenses. As its title suggests, Regulation 22/2021 established a framework that mandates that producers of processed food products (“ Producers ”) should secure approvals for CPPOB Implementation Licenses. These approvals will subsequently serve as evidence that demonstrates that all facilities used during the production of processed food products are in compliance with, and consistently apply, CPPOB standards throughout all production activities.
