The National Agency of Drug and Food Control (Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan- “ BPOM ”) recently issued Regulation No. 22 of 2021 (“ Regulation 22/2021 ”), which sets out procedures for the issuance of good manufacturing practices for processed food (cara produksi pangan olahan yang baik– “ CPPOB ”) implementation licenses. In essence, CPPOB implementation licenses must be secured by producers of processed foods and prove that all facilities use during the production of processed foods are in compliance with and fully implement the CPPOB standards during all production activities.
