BPOM Issues Provisions on the Online Distribution of Food and Drugs

With the objective of protecting the general public from the risks associated with unsafe food and drugs which are distributed online and which offer no benefits or nutritional value, and in order to implement of Article 35 (3) of Regulation of the Government No. 71 of 2019 on the Organization of Electronic Systems and Transactions and Article 2 of Regulation of the President No. 80 of 2017 on the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan– “ BPOM ”), [1] the BPOM has finally issued Regulation No. 8 of 2020 on the Supervision of Drugs and Foods Which Are Distributed Online (“ Regulation 8/2020 ”).
