BPOM Regulates the Management of Pharmaceutical Substances

The National Agency of Drug and Food Control (Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan– “ BPOM ”) has regulated the management of certain types of drugs based upon Regulation No. 4 of 2018 on the Supervision of the Management of Drugs, Drug Ingredients, Narcotics, Psychotropics and Pharmaceutical Precursors at Pharmaceutical Service Facilities (“ Regulation 4/2018 ”).Prior to the issuance of Regulation 4/2018, matters pertaining to the management of pharmaceutical precursors at pharmacies, pharmaceutical installations at hospitals and drugstores were regulated under Regulation of the Head of BPOM No. 40 of 2013 on Guidelines for the Management of Pharmaceutical Precursors and Drugs Containing Pharmaceutical Precursors (“ Regulation 40/2013 ”).In essence, Regulation 4/2018 addresses the following matters:
