Back in 2018, Indonesia’s Minister of Law and Human Rights issued Regulation No. 38 of 2018 on Patent Applications, which was subsequently amended by Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights No. 13 of 2021 (collectively referred to as “ Regulation 38/2018 ”). [1] This framework served as the primary set of guidelines for the filing of patent applications. In this regard, patents, as exclusive rights that apply within the field of intellectual property, can only be granted to applications that specifically relate to inventions within the field of technology.
