The Indonesian Government has updated various provisions on energy conservation through the issuance of Regulation of the Government No. 33 of 2023 (“ Regulation 33/2023 ”), that has been in force since 16 June 2023 and simultaneously revokes Regulation of the Government No. 70 of 2009 (“ Regulation 70/2009 ”), which stood as Indonesia’s previous legal framework for energy conservation.
