In 2022, the Minister of Trade (“ Minister ”) introduced Regulation No. 50 of 2022 (“ Regulation 50/2022 ”) on Export Provisions for Crude Palm Oil (“ CPO ”); Refined, Bleached and Deodorized Palm Oil (“ RBDPO ”); Refined, Bleached and Deodorized Palm Olein (“ RBDPL ”); and Used Cooking Oil (“ UCO ”) (collectively referred to as “ Palm Oil Derivative Products ”). As its title suggests, this framework outlined the applicable export approvals for CPO, RBDPO, RBDPL and UCO and was applicable to releases of goods to and from certain areas. It should be noted that various provisions featured under Regulation 50/2022 were previously summarized when they first appeared in a Draft Circular in the following edition of Indonesian Legal Brief (“ ILB ”): “ Minister of Trade Specifically Regulates Export Approval Classifications for CPO, RBDPO, RBDPL and UCO ”.
