Combatting Environmental Damage: Mining Permit Holders Required to Establish Nursery Facilities by 31 December 2025

As coal and mineral mining business activities (“ Mining Activities ”) heavily impact their surrounding environments, said activities need to be complemented by adequate levels of revegetation. Given this importance, the government is aiming to expedite the implementation of such revegetation through the issuance of Regulation of the President No. 77 of 2024 on the Expediting of the Construction and Management of Nursery Facilities for Coal and Mineral Mining Business Activities (“ Regulation 77/2024 ”), which has been in force since 5 August 2024.
