Constitutional Court Faces New Deadline: Formal Judicial Review Cases Must Now Be Ruled Within 60 Business Days of State Response

In an effort to accommodate ever-evolving procedural practices and to better serve the legal needs of various parties who seek justice and who appear before the Constitutional Court (Mahkamah Konstitusi– “ MK ”), the MK has now decided to issue Regulation No. 7 of 2025 (“ Regulation 7/2025 ”) on Procedural Rules for Judicial Review Cases (“ Procedural Rules ”), which has been in force since 20 August 2025. [1] Previously, matters relating to the aforementioned Procedural Rules were addressed under Regulation of the MK No. 2 of 2021 (“ Regulation 2/2021 ”), which bore the same title as Regulation 7/2025 and which has now been repealed and replaced.
