The need for amendments to the current Consumer Protection Law (Law No. 8 of 1999) appears to be universal in that both consumers and businesses crave a better regulatory consumer protection framework. Nevertheless, striking a working balance that ensures everyone is happy is a difficult task, but a task that the National Consumer Protection Agency (BKPN / Badan Perlindungan Konsumen Nasional) has undertaken with the production of a Draft Amendment to the Consumer Protection Law.
