While cooking oil remains a scarce commodity across several regions of Indonesia, the government, acting through the Minister of Trade, recently stipulated a Maximum Retail Price (Harga Eceran Tertinggi– “ HET ”) for bulk cooking oil through the issuance of Regulation of the Minister of Trade No. 11 of 2022 (“ Regulation 11/2022 ”). [1] Under Regulation 11/2022, HET of Rp. 14,000.00/liter or Rp. 15,000.00/kg have been set for bulk cooking oil. [2]
