Draft Bill on Agrarian Reform: 20% HGU Land Redistribution, Landholding Limits, and Centralized Agrarian Authority

Indonesia’s House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat– “ DPR ”) is currently completing work on a new Draft Bill on Agrarian Reform (“ Draft Bill ”).  The Draft Bill establishes the National Agrarian Reform Agency (Badan Reforma Agraria Nasional- “BRAN” ) as a centralized agency directly accountable to the President and sets out its authorities, including in the resolution of agrarian conflicts and the temporary suspension of land administration processes involving land subject to agrarian conflict status.
