The government is currently deliberating the Draft Bill on the Amendment (“ Draft Bill ”) to Law No. 16 of 2004 on Prosecutors of the Republic of Indonesia (“ Prosecutors Law ”) in an effort to ensure the standing and role of Indonesian prosecutors during the performance of their duties and the exercising of their authorities, specifically as they relate to prosecution, as well as other authorities that are based on prevailing laws and which must remain free from the influence of any interested parties.
