In order to reflect the ways in which today’s digital technologies are radically reshaping the creation, use and distribution of artistic works, as well as to ensure that the country’s copyright laws are in line with current legal and public needs, Indonesia’s House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat/DPR) is currently completing work on the Draft Bill on Copyright (“ Draft Bill ”). [1] If it is ultimately enforced, then the Draft Bill will ultimately repeal and replace Law No. 28 of 2014 (“ Law 28/2014 ”), which has been serving over the past decade as Indonesia’s umbrella framework on copyright. [2]
