Indonesia’s House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat/DPR) is currently completing work on a new Draft Bill of 2026 on Copyright (“ Draft Bill 2026 ”), which updates the previously published Draft Bill of 2025 (“ Draft Bill 2025 ”). [1] If Draft Bill 2026 is ultimately enforced, then it will ultimately repeal and replace Law No. 28 of 2014 (“ Law 28/2014 ”), which has served as Indonesia’s umbrella framework on copyright for more than a decade.
