In 2023, Indonesia’s House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat– “ DPR ”), in conjunction with the Indonesian President, officially issued Law No. 1 of 2023 , which comprises Indonesia’s most recent Criminal Law Code (Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Pidana-“ KUHP ”). The new KUHP is set to replace its century-old predecessor , [1] while KUHP will officially come into force in 2026. [2] Meanwhile, all of the necessary Implementing Regulations to this framework are required to be issued by the end of 2025. [3]
