Indonesia’s House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat– “ DPR ”), alongside its government counterparts, is currently completing the work on the new Draft Bill on the Citizenship of the Republic of Indonesia (“ Draft Bill ”). If ultimately enforced, this Draft Bill would repeal and replace Law No. 12 of 2006 , as amended by Law No. 1 of 2026 , that bore the same title as the Draft Bill (collectively referred to as “ Law 12/2006 ”).
