The House of Representatives (“House”) is currently discussing the Draft Bill on Land (“DraftBill”) as part of its 2015 priority legislation program. [1] The Draft Bill was formulated by the House in a bid to address the lack of updates relating to Law No. 5 of 1960 on Basic Agricultural Provisions (“AgrarianLaw”). The law is considered obsolete and unsuited to current developments regarding land matters. [2]
