The House of Representatives (“ House ”) is currently deliberating the Draft Bill on Tax Consultants (“ Draft Bill ”), which is listed as part of the government’s 2018 Priority National Legislative Program. [1] Once enforced, the Draft Bill will serve as the legal framework for the tax-consultant profession (“ Consultants ”) and will also ensure legal protection for any taxpayers who utilize the various services offered by Consultants. [2] The Draft Bill sets out comprehensive details on matters relating to Consultants, including their tasks, rights and obligations. However, for reasons of brevity, this edition of Indonesian Legal Brief (ILB) will limit its discussion to the following matters:
