The government recently submitted the most recent version of the Draft Bill on the Criminal Law Code [Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Pidana– “ KUHP ”] (“ 2022 Draft KUHP ”) to the Indonesian House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat – “ DPR ”). [1] Indonesia’s Vice-Minister of Law and Human Rights, Eddy Hiariej, has stated that this version of the draft bill is the result of various improvements that have been made to the Previous Version of the Draft KUHP, which was originally drafted back in September 2019 (“ 2019 Draft KUHP ”), as well as to the existing KUHP.
