The Jakartan members of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) have prepared an Academic Draft (Naskah Akademis) regarding the amendment of LawNo. 34 of 1999on the Governance of Jakarta. The purpose of an Academic Draft is to set out the rationale and philosophy of the needs for either amended or new legislation on a particular subject matter. The Draft was submitted by the members of the DPD representing Jakarta as it was deemed that one of the primary functions of the members of this forum are to represent the aspirations of their respective constituents.
