Draft Bill on the Supervision of Drugs and Foods

In line with the 2014 - 2019 National Legislative Program, [1] the House of Representatives(“House”)is currently in the process of discussing the Draft Bill on Drugs and Foods Supervision(“Draft Bill”). The Draft Bill is expected to boost the quality, safety and efficacy of drugs and foods across the country, thus ensuring the health of the general public. [2] This is seen as being especially important in the wake of the fake vaccine incident that hit the country several months ago. [3] In a nutshell, the Draft Bill incorporates a total of 105 articles, which set out a comprehensive umbrella arrangement of provisions relating to the supervision of drugs and foods . Such supervision was previously regulated through a number of separate regulations. To this end, the Draft Bill encompasses the following matters:
