On 14 December 2018, the National Agency for Drug and Food Control (Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan– “ BPOM ”) issued an update to Draft Regulation of BPOM on the Supervision of the Online Circulation of Drugs (“ Draft Regulation ”) with the ultimate objective of protecting the general public from the manifold medical risks associated with the unsupervised distribution and use of drugs which are circulated via online platforms. [1] In order to realize the abovementioned objective, the Draft Regulation specifically addresses the following legal provisions in relation to the online circulation of drugs:
