Draft Regulation of the Government on Utilization of Foreign Workers

Massive changes were made to the employment sector through the issuance of Law No. 11 of 2020 on Job Creation (“ Job Creation Law ”). Moreover, according to the Indonesian Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah, all of the Draft Regulations (Rancangan Peraturan Pemerintah– “ RPP ”) to the Job Creation Law that apply within the employment sector have now been harmonized by the relevant Ministries/Agencies. [1] One of the RPP that has already been published is the RPP on the Utilization of Foreign Workers (RPP Tenaga Kerja Asing- “ RPP TKA ”). Once this new framework has been issued, the RPP TKA will replace and repeal Regulation of the President No. 20 of 2018 (“ Regulation 20/2018 ”). [2]
