In a bid to provide easier, faster and more effective application services for the registration of intellectual property, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights(“Ministry”)has established an electronic system for the submission of applications for the registration of intellectual property. [1] The procedure that should be followed by any electronic-application system is now set out under Ministry Regulation No. 42 of 2016 on Electronic Applications for the Registration of Intellectual Property(“Regulation 42/2016”).Electronic-Application SystemsRegulation 42/2016stipulates that applications for the registration of any intellectual property should be submitted in writing and in electronic form through the official website of the Directorate General of Intellectual Property.
