Indonesia’s House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat– “ DPR ”) has promulgated Law No. 3 of 2026 on the Protection of Witnesses and Victims (“ Law 3/2026 ”), which has simultaneously repealed and replaced Law No. 13 of 2006 , as amended by Law No. 31 of 2014 (collectively referred to as “ Law 13/2006 ”). [1] Prior to this promulgation, the DPR had issued a Draft Bill version of Law 3/2006 (“ Draft Bill ”), which was discussed in a previous edition of Indonesian Legal Brief ( ILB ) titled: Draft Bill on Witness and Victim Protection: Enforceable Restitution Mechanism and Victim Endowment Fund Set for Rollout .
