Expanded Tourism Sector Business Standards Unveiled: Risk-Level Adjustments Trigger Mandatory Standard Updates by October 2025

Following the issuance of Regulation of the Government No. 28 of 2025 (“ Regulation 28/2025 ”) [1] , which is Indonesia’s most recent umbrella framework to address Risk-Based Business Licensing (Perizinan Berusaha Berbasis Risiko– “ PBBR ”), the Minister of Tourism (“ Minister ”) has now decided to issue Regulation No. 6 of 2025 on Business Activity Standards, Supervision Procedures and Administrative Sanctions During the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing Within the Tourism Sector (“ Regulation 6/2025 ”), which has been in force since 10 October 2025.
