In a bid to enhance the development of processing and purification technologies for domestic mineral products, [1] the Ministry of Trade (“ Ministry ”) has issued Regulation No. 32 of 2018 on Export Provisions for Mining Products as Samples for the Purpose of the Research and Development of Processing and/or Purification Technologies (“ Regulation 32/2018 ”).In order to achieve the abovementioned goal, Regulation 32/2018 provides an exception for exports of certain types of mining products (“ Products ”) which were previously prohibited from being exported, as listed under Appendix V to Ministry Regulation No. 44/M-DAG/PER/7/2012 on Prohibited Exported Goods (“ Regulation 44/2012 ”), so long as said Products are to be used as samples for the purpose of the further technological development of processing and/or purification techniques. [2] Exported Mining Products Eligible for Sample PurposesAs was briefly mentioned above, Regulation 32/2018 allows for exports of certain Products, so long as the Products in question are to be used for sample purposes only.
