As one of the measures that are currently being introduced in order to bolster export activities and ultimately to improve Indonesia’s ongoing trade deficit, the Director General of Customs and Excise has issued Regulation No. PER-1/BC/2019 on Business Process for Exports of Completely Built-Up Vehicles (“ Regulation 1/2019 ”). [1] In essence, Regulation 1/2019 essentially simplifies procedures for exports of completely built-up vehicles (“ CBU Vehicles ”) and it has been predicted that this will eventually cut overall costs for exporters.
