Forestry Moratorium for the Next Two Years

The President has issued Directive No. 6 of 2013 on Moratorium for Granting New Forestry Licenses and Management Improvement for Primary Natural Forest and Peatlands (“2013 Directive”), which is a part of Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation scheme, commonly known as REDD+. [1] The 2013 Directive affirms the continuation of the forestry moratorium status that was stipulated under Presidential Directive No. 10 of 2011 . [2]
