From Laptops to Vacuum Cleaners: 93 Telecommunications Devices and 61 Other Devices Will Soon Be Subject to Mandatory Technical Standards

In 2024, the Minister of Communication and Informatics introduced Regulation No. 3 of 2024 (“ Regulation 3/2024 ”), which specifically mandates that all telecommunications equipment and telecommunications devices (collectively referred to as “ Telecommunications Devices ”) meet applicable technical standards that apply to various types of Telecommunications Devices, as proven through certificates for Telecommunications Devices. [1] In this regard, it should be noted that various aspects relating to said certification of conformity with technical standards for Telecommunications Devices (“ Certification ”), as featured under Regulation 3/2024, were summarized in the following edition of Indonesian Legal Brief (“ ILB ”): “ Technical Standards Certification Required for All Telecommunications Devices and Equipment by May 2024 ”.
