Government Further Regulates the Management of Song and Music Royalties

In an effort to provide greater legal certainty for creators, copyright holders and/or neighboring rights owners as regards the management of any royalties that are generated through the use of their creations, the government recently issued Regulation No. 56 of 2021 on the Management of Song and/or Music Copyright Royalties (“ Regulation 56/2021 ”), which will now serve as an implementing regulation to Law No. 28 of 2014 on Copyright (“ Copyright Law ”).
