Government Introduces Procedures for the Imposition of Administrative Sanctions in Relation to Certain Existing Activities Within Forest Areas

Regulation of the Government No. 24 of 2021 on Procedures for the Imposition of Administrative Sanctions and Procedures for Non-Tax State Revenue Originating from Administrative Fines Within the Forestry Sector (“ Regulation 24/2021 ”) was recently issued in an attempt to put proper settlement procedures in place in relation to the initiation of certain activities within areas of production forest, protected forest and/or conservation forest (collectively referred to as “ Forest Areas ”) [1] without proper business licensing within the forestry sector prior to the issuance of the Law No. 11 of 2020 on Job Creation (“ Job-Creation Law ”). [2]
